ASRock Rack's Servers Ready for Intel® Xeon E-2200 Processors
Taipei, Taiwan – November 1, 2019 – Cloud-computing server manufacturer and a subsidiary of ASRock Inc., ASRock Rack, today announced support for Intel® Xeon E-2200 processors featuring up to 8-core / 16 threads on its range of server barebones and motherboards. To achieve up to 16% performance improvement on multi-threaded workloads compared to the last generation, ASRock Rack has fully optimized its general purpose server product portfolio to leverage the performance advantages of Intel® Xeon E-2200 processors supporting two channels DDR4-2666MHz ECC memory in four UDIMM slots for up to 128GB, Intel® Optane memory and Intel® Optane SSDs.
1U General Purpose Server Systems
ASRock Rack's 1U2LW-C242 and 1U4LW-C242 cost-efficient server platforms feature up to four hot-swap 3.5/2.5-inch hard drive bays, one PCIe3.0 x16 expansion slot, and an IPMI 2.0 with KVM and dedicated LAN port in a compact 1U form factor. The 1U2LW-C242 and 1U4LW-C242 with new Intel® Xeon E-2200 processors are designed to deliver enterprise workload-optimized performance combined with built-in security features and reliability for the general-purpose servers used by today's small and medium-sized business professionals.
Server Motherboards
ASRock Rack's Intel® Xeon E-2200 processor-based E3C242D4U and E3C246D4U server motherboards come in a standard micro-ATX form factor featuring up to eight SATA3 storage ports (from the Intel® C246 PCH), three PCIe expansion slots (one x16, one x8 and one x4), and up to 128GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory in four DIMM slots. In addition, the E3C242D4U2-2T and E3C246D4U2-2L2T micro-ATX server motherboards feature dual 10GBASE-T LAN ports for increasing demand for greater data transfer speeds.
The E3C242D4M-4L / E3C246D4M-4L are both ATX form factor server motherboards featuring four 1Gbe LAN ports. The E3C242D2I / E3C246D2I both feature an ultra-fast M.2 port and one PCIe3.0 x16 expansion slot offering powerful computing performance in a compact Mini-ITX form factor.
Workstation Motherboards
The C246M WS workstation motherboard comes in a standard Micro-ATX form factor, featuring eight SATA3 ports (6 Gb/s) via Intel® C246 controller while one is shared with an M.2 slot, and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports by Intel® Ethernet Controller I210 and I219LM delivering up to 1000 Mbps of network connection bandwidth as well as offering PCIe expansion slots (one x16, one x8 and one x4) for higher-bandwidth and more scalable peripheral devices connections. The C246M WS is ideal to meet the requirements of reliable and stable graphics-intensive applications and engineering CAD drawing workstations.
The C246 WS workstation motherboard in ATX form factor packed with features and expansion capabilities including up to eight SATA3 ports, five PCIe expansion slots (two x16, one x8, one x1, one PCI1) for different peripheral devices, and triple displays with DisplayPort, HDMI, D-Sub; three M.2, dual 1GbE LAN ports, and four external USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports.
The C246 WSI comes in a Mini-ITX form factor featuring up to four SATA3 ports and one OCuLink enabled to four SATA ports for storage. It supports two channels of DDR4 ECC memory for up to 64GB of DDR4 2666Mhz in two DIMM slots, one PCIe 3.0 x16 expansion slot, an ultra-fast M.2 port, dual 1GbE LAN ports, and four USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports .
